"Let me look upward into the branches of a flowering oak and know that it grew great and strong because it grew slowly and well." -Wilfred Peterson
Starting from a tiny acorn, the oak grows into a sturdy, majestic tree. The world around the oak tree is harsh at times with winds blowing its branches, storms attacking its trunk, animals ravaging it for food and warmth, and disease attacking it roots. Yet the resiliency and strength of the oak allows it to live for thousands of years. The visible marks and wounds the tree proudly displays makes each of them unique and beautiful. We too are faced with emotional and at times physical hardships in our lives. It is during these times that we must reach out for help, as the branches and roots of an oak tree reach for sunlight and water in order to heal and grow.
